The Church of Sweden

January 10, 2012

I almost forgot to take a picture!  My new favorite lunch spot is the type of place that you are hesitant to share with anyone but your most dear friends… The Church of Sweden is one of the most peaceful and special places I know in Midtown, and the experience feels so cozy. If it weren’t for the taxis outside of the windows, you could swear you were eating lunch in a library in Stockholm!

You can choose an open-faced sandwich from the refrigerator in the back room nestled between shelves of handmade crafts and Swedish candies, and depending on the day, a handsome Swedish fellow or beautiful grandmother will serve you coffee or tea. The cinnamon buns, which are made in the basement of the church, are not to be missed!

It’s the perfect place to sit and think, write your to-do list and birthday cards, and find calm in the heart of the city…

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed! I still go here all the time for a little Swedish respite from Midtown… Hope you are well!
